Benefits of Using the App Channel
App-push messages can be used to target individuals with personalised marketing messages. It allows you to target individuals with specific offers and promotions that are relevant to them, increasing the likelihood that they will make a purchase. They can also be used to remind customers about items they have left in their shopping cart. Personalised push notifications can help to increase customer loyalty and encourage customers to return to your store.
Examples of Use Cases for App Channel
This section will introduce you to the different use cases of where App Push Messaging be utilised as part of your marketing automation strategy. The use cases are based on Café Connect, a fictive company selling coffee both in stores and subscription based.
App Push Message allows Café Connect to improve their personalised marketing by providing a way to target their customers with specific messages based on their interests or past interactions and behaviour. By using an App Push Message Café Connect can let their customers know when their favourite coffee beans is back in stock with a Push Message. The call-to-action in the App Push Message is to reserve the coffee directly from the App. By only showing the products that are in the interest of the customers, Café Connect can improve the overall customer experience.
Example of a Push Message
A Cafe Connect customer has installed the Café Connect app on their smartphone. The customer browses the App and views the page regarding Membership options. This information will be tracked and with the knowledge of the customers interest in membership options, a Push Message with an offer on a free trial for the Cafe Connect Care Club is sent to the customer. App Push Message allows Café Connect to target each of their costumers with specific offers and Promotions that are relevant to them, increasing the likelihood that the customer will make a purchase.
In order to give the customers in Café Connect's physical stores the best possible experience every time they visit one of the stores, an App Push Message is sent to the customer asking them to evaluate their visit. Letting the customer know that any bad experiences are taken care of will contribute to prevent the customer from churning.

How the App Channel works
In order to get started with the App Channel there are different components that needs to be configured.
Integrating Your App with Agillic
The App Channel is based on a SDK that can be integrated into your business’ mobile app. The SDK supports both iOS and Android. Calling the SDK from the app code will then either register the recipient or track the recipient’s behaviour in the app. The Agillic Tracking API allows you to track on which app pages the recipient has visited and when. How many times has the recipient visited the app page and how long time has the recipient visited the app page.
Identifying Your Users as Recipients
In order to be able to send App Push Messages to your app users, they need to be created as recipients in Agillic with the current version of the App Push. The SDK will create the recipient when they have identified themselves within the app and allowed the use of App Push Messages. After this is done, you are able to send them App Push Messages.
How the Data is Stored
In order to use the App Channel, it needs to be enabled in System Settings. After the App Channel has been enabled, the system will create a technical One-to-Many table which holds all the registration details for the app per recipient. The table is called AGILLIC_REGISTRATION and you will use this One-to-Many table in order to create Target Group conditions to find all recipients who have an app installed, for example.
Content and Flow Execution
When you have the integration up and running, you are ready to setup content for your Push Messages. In order to do this, you set up the content in the Push Message in the App Push Editor in the Channels module.
When you have setup the content for the message, you will need to execute the notification using the flow designer in Agillic. This means that the notifications can be either triggered for one recipient at a time or be used for larger campaign sendouts to a Target Group that you have set up.
