Overview
The AI Copywriter feature allows you to use our integration to OpenAI in order to create content for your communications, based on multiple parameters such as target group, persona and objectives. The AI Copywriter is your helper when it comes to generating personalised messages without you having the need to write all the content yourself. It should enable you to quicker create variations of your content across channels. The goal is to increase productivity using automatic generation of content and subject lines with easy editing of length and tone of voice. With the feature marketeers can generate subject lines and text content for campaigns based on provided input or get assistance when working with existing content.
There are two main areas where the copywriter will help you:
- Content generation: Generate first draft of the text for a new message based whatever information provided by user. I.e. objective, selected keywords like product(s), brand identity, tone of voice and a persona description of the recipients.
- Editing assistance: Get help to refine content use predefined commands to set text length, number of paragraphs or tone of voice. or perform spell- and grammar checks.
Enabling the AI Copywriter the first time
Before using the AI Copywriter, you must set up a few things in System Settings. First, you need to insert the API key from your OpenAI account. If you are in doubt about where to find it, you can read this guide in order to get the correct key. After having inserted the key, you can use the AI Copywriter. Please note that it will use the credits from your OpenAI account.
Please be aware that you need an OpenAI account level that has access to API integrations. This may require payment information on your OpenAI account.
Hereafter, you have multiple parameters you can setup in order to customise the prompt to OpenAI:
ℹ️ Please note that these fields are completely customisable. The following are examples of how it can be used, but you can apply your own experiences from prompting to these parameters.
Personas
Personas define some main characteristics that you can divide your customer base into. These personas share certain characteristics in the relation to your business/organisation, for example, within the areas of age, gender, geographical location or purchase/subscription/donation behavior.
The personas will be the basis for the different versions of your content. If you do not work with personas in your segmentation, you can leave it blank for a more plain content generation.
The personas could for example be: "Young, eco-conscious coffee subscribers for home usage", "middle aged, loyal cafe customers", "regular coffee subscribers with low engagement".
In order to add a persona, simply click "Add option" and enter the name, used in the dialogue, and the description:
Tone of voice
Here, you can define the tone of voice which the AI Copywriter should include in the content generation. The tone of voice can be used separately from the Personas and is more about the context for the message.
Again, you simply click "Add option" and fill in the name and value for the tone of voice in order to add a tone of voice:
Text length
The text length parameter allows you to define different levels of text lengths, so you can easily adapt the content according to where in the email you are inserting the text.
Channels
The channels setting allows you to send additional contextual information along when generating content from that specific channel.
These are automatically send to OpenAI when you use the AI Copywriter in the different channels. If you leave this blank, we will not do anything automatically when used from the different channels.
Custom actions
With custom actions, you can setup your own parameters that you want to pass along in the prompt. This gives you high level of flexibility in terms of what you want to prompt to OpenAI, and therefore the custom actions should be seen as optional actions you can setup if you would like to give content creators more options.
Some examples of usage could be:
Previewing the prompt
After having configured the credentials as well as the Personas, Tone of Voice, Text Length, Custom Actions and Channel specific, you can try out the prompt in the bottom of the settings module.
