In Agillic, it's possible to add as many domains as you need. However, it's always a good idea to consider if you want to track more than one domain as you're setting up the domains.
'From: Domain Names' are used for validation in from addresses, while 'Link Domain Names' are used as base URLs for hyperlinks and images in your emails, as well as tracking. If you want to use the same subdomain name for both, you can leave the 'Link: Domain Name' blank. But, if you want to track on multiple 'From: domain names' on your Webpage/Portal page, the setup is a little different.

How to Set up Multiple Domains with the same 'Link Domain Name' for Tracking Purposes
When setting up domains on your Agillic solution, you may consider whether you want to track all your domains. However, Agillic doesn't support using multiple tracking scripts on the same Webpage/Portal page. We only track on the latest tracking script you've inserted in your header. It's only possible to have a single Agillic Tracking Script in your header on your external Webpage/Portal page.
What to Know Before Setting Up the Domains
As it's only possible to add a single tracking script to your header on your Webpage/Portal page, you need to find a common subdomain to use for tracking purposes. The subdomain also needs to be verified in order to track it. See how to create a verified subdomain here.
It's important to note that the subdomain you've decided track on is added to each of the subdomains in the 'Link Domain Name' section when creating a domain.
It isn't possible to use a root domain as 'Link Domain Name' as it's required that they have a CNAME record.
How to Set Up Domains with the Same Link Domain
- Log into the Staging or Production environment.
- Open the Settings module.
- Open the Domains subsection under the 'System Settings' section.
- Fill in your subdomain in the 'From: domain name' field.
- Fill in the URL you've decided to use for tracking in the 'Link domain name' field.
- Click the plus icon next to the entry.
- Repeat steps 3-5 for each subdomain you want to set up.
Even though you've used the same 'Link Domain Name' on more than one 'From: Domain Name', it will only generate one Agillic Tracking Script. You can read more about the Agillic Tracking Script in the following article 'Understanding Agillic Tracking Script' and about how to set it up here 'How to Set up the Agillic Tracking Script'.
Same 'Link domain name' on three different 'From: domain names'
How to Change the Link Domain Name to Track on Multiple Domains
You may be in a situation where you've already set up all your domains so the 'Link Domain Name' matches the 'From: Domain Name'. In this case, you won't be able to track all domains at the same time on the same Webpage/Portal page.
What to Know Before Changing the Link Domain
As it's only possible to add a single tracking script to your header on your webpage/portal page, you need to find a subdomain that you want to use to track on. The subdomain also needs to be verified in order to track it. See how to create a verified subdomain here.
It's important to note that the subdomain you've decided to track on is added to each of the subdomains in the 'Link domain name' section when creating a domain, even though it's a different 'From: Domain Name'.
It isn't possible to use a root domain as Link domain name as Link domains require a CNAME record.
If you work with more than one root domain such as @agilliccandy.com and @agillic.com, it is important that you create a Link Domain Name for each of the domains that you want to track. This means that you need to create a Link Domain Name called e.g. tracking.agilliccandy.com and tracking.agillic.com. The reason you cannot use the same Link Domain Name for more than one root domain is that it is not possible to track across root domains. If you track across root domains, it will be considered a third-party tracking and will be more likely to be blocked by devices.
How Do I Change the Link domain?
In this process, it's required to delete the domains you want to change the 'Link Domain Name' on. However, it isn't possible to delete a subdomain that's used in outbound communications in Agillic. We, therefore, recommend that you create a dummy subdomain that you can use for the purpose of changing the 'Link Domain Name'. You can advantageously create the dummy subdomain with the 'Link Domain Name' you want to track.
Once you've set up the subdomain, contact the Product Specialists in Agillic Support so they can map the 'Link Domain Name' to the rest of your subdomains as well as to your outbound communications. When contacting the Product Specialists in Agillic Support, please inform us about which subdomains you want the 'Link Domain Name' to be changed on.
When we're done mapping the 'Link Domain Name', you can delete the dummy subdomain again.
