Person Data fields allow you to store Person Data for your recipients. When creating a new Person Data field, you choose what types of data it can contain, listed in the table below.
How to Create a Person Data Field
- Log in to Staging.
- Open the Data module.
- From the left sidebar, select 'Person Data'.
- Click the 'Create' icon in the top toolbar.
- From the drop-down menu, select the type of Person Data field you want to create. See table 1 for more details on each type.
- Fill in a name for your Person Data field in the 'Name' field in the main portion of the screen.
- If you'd like, add a description of your Person Data field for reference.
- Click 'Save'.
Your Person Data Field is now ready to store data for your recipients. You can import data into your new Person Data fields by using the importer.
It's important to note that you should never create Person Data Fields directly on Production. Always create them on Staging. This way, the Person Data field will automatically be created on Production as well. Read more about our best practice on workflow here.

If possible and if it fits your use case, we recommend that all Person Data fields should contain contact information that's 'unique'. You can set this in a checkbox when creating the Person Data field.
You can also add restrictions to all Person Data fields where you only want certain values to be accepted. Restrictions can be added to the Person Data field in the 'Restriction' panel.
