You may want to check if a recipient is in a Target Group. This is useful if you want to understand more about how your recipients are segmented or if you want to investigate why a recipient wasn't included in a Scheduled Flow Execution.
There are two ways you can check if a recipient is in a specific Target Group:
- How to Use the 'Info' Button to Check if a Recipient is in a Target Group
- How to Set Up a Target Group to Check if a Recipient is in a Target Group
How to Use the 'Info' Button to Check if a Recipient is in a Target Group
- Log into Staging or Production depending on if your recipient is a test recipient or a live recipient.
- Open the Data module.
- Open the 'Target Groups' section.
- Open the 'Target Groups' folder.
- Navigate to an existing Target Group or create a new Target Group.
- Add Conditions that match the recipient you want to find. Learn how to create conditions here. For example, Person Data - EMAIL - Equals - blue@sweetmail.com - Condition met.
- Click the 'Save' button.
- Click on the 'Recipients' panel to fold out the recipients' overview.
- Click on the recipient you want to check Target Groups for.
- Click the 'Info' icon in the toolbar.
- A pop-up window will appear with the Recipient's Info.
- Check what Target Groups appear on the list.
You have now checked which Target Groups your recipient is in. If you have a lot of Target Groups on your instance, it might take a few seconds for the Target Group list to appear.
You can make it easier to find future recipients by having a Target Group dedicated to finding recipients. This way you will be able to edit your Target Group's conditions without worrying that the Target Group is used for something else.

You've now verified if your recipient is currently a part of the chosen Target Group or not.
Due to the dynamic nature of Target Groups, even if a recipient is currently a part of a Target Group, it doesn't necessarily mean that the recipient was in the Target Group at the time of a Flow execution. This is especially true when several days or weeks have passed since the time of the Flow execution.
Checking if the recipient with the email address blue@sweetmail.com is in the Target Group 'Valid Recipients'. Since the recipient does appear in the 'Recipients' panel, it means that the recipient is currently a part of the Target Group.
