The subject line of your email plays a vital role in determining its effectiveness. This guide outlines how to manage and optimize your email's subject line to achieve better results in your sendouts.
Add a Subject line
Any email communication requires a Subject Line so recipients can see what your emails are about. Managing your subject line is done above the canvas (see the picture below).
Setting up a Subject Line Test
Learn how to boost the effectiveness of your email sendouts by crafting compelling and pertinent subject lines.
1. Subject Line Testing: To improve your email's performance, you can test multiple subject lines. This involves sending different variants to a small percentage of your target group and then automatically sending the best-performing subject line to the rest of the target group.
2. Enabling Subject Line Testing: To enable a subject line test, add the number of variants you wish to test. This action will open the Subject Line test settings in the right sidebar.
3. Managing Test Settings: In the right sidebar, you can configure how the winner is determined and when the best-performing subject line should be sent out.
How to insert a promotion in email subject line
Once you've created a Promotion and added Propositions, you might want to insert the Promotion into the subject line of an email. This would mean your recipients' subject lines would be personalised.
If your Promotion already has a Promotion field created as the TEXT type, you can use the Promotion field here to contain your different subject line variations. Learn how to create a Promotion Field here.
How to Insert a Promotion in an Email Subject Line
- Log into Staging.
- Open the Channels module and select 'Email', then navigate to the email you want to insert the Promotion into.
- Click on the 'Subject line' field
- Under the 'Subject line' menu to the right, click 'Add a promotion block'
- Insert the name of your promotion and find it in the drop-down.
- Select the promotion field you want to draw the subject line from
- Click 'Done'.
- You should now see the sublect line, from the promotion, in the subject line block.
You've now inserted your Promotion into your Email's subject line.
We strongly advise that you test the email to ensure that all subject line variations look as intended when sending to different recipients.
