This guide is dedicated to helping you set up and configure your print communication seamlessly. Whether you are new to the process or seeking to optimize your offline document generation, this article will guide you through the essential steps and best practices.
Preparing for Print Communication
Before embarking on the journey of creating personalized PDFs or offline documents, it's essential to ensure you have the necessary prerequisites in place. Here's what you need:
- A Print template with your brand guidelines (See Understanding Templates).
- A good naming convention for folders and work items. Make sure you know where your work is located so it’s easy to jump in and out of your work.
- Personalised content for your messages. You need to have some inspiring text and imagery in your emails to give your recipients a good experience with your brand. While not necessary, we highly recommend utilising the data you have on your recipients to heighten their experience (See Personalising content).
- Test recipients to test what the end result for your recipients will be (See How to Create a Test Recipient).
Creating a print file
This section outlines the step-by-step process of creating a print file:
- Navigate to Print under the Channels menu.
- Choose an existing folder or create a new one to house your print files. Utilize the plus icon at the top of the content tree to create a new folder if needed.
- Name your print file and select the template you want to use.
- Click Create Print to initiate the content-building process for your offline document.
Configuring Print Settings
Configure your print settings either during the print file creation process or by accessing the Print Settings in the right sidebar after the print file has been created. Print Settings is where you set up the UTM Campaign name for Google Analytics, especially when you are creating online PDFs for your recipients.
